WSP in the Middle East is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Saudi National Graduate to join our growing Contracts and Commercial team in Riyadh, KSA. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate with an interest in the legal, financial, and strategic aspects of delivering major infrastructure and construction projects. As a Graduate Engineer- Contracts & Commercial, you will gain exposure to both contract administration and commercial management across high-profile projects, helping you build a solid foundation for a long-term career in the industry.
Responsibilities
* Attend client meetings with senior team members as part of on-the-job learning.
* Assist in the review, preparation, and administration of contracts, including main contracts, subcontracts, and consultancy agreements.
* Support the commercial team in managing budgets, cost tracking, and project forecasting.
* Participate in reviewing variations, claims, and change orders with guidance from senior staff.
* Help maintain accurate project documentation, including contract correspondence and financial records.
* Support in procurement processes, including bid evaluation and analysis.
* Assist with monthly valuations, interim payment applications, and preparation of final accounts.
* Contribute to risk identification and mitigation from both contractual and commercial perspectives.
* Learn and implement international and regional contract standards such as FIDIC.
* Participate in regular project reviews as per the WSP ME criteria, helping to identify opportunities and risks to WSP's financial performance and ensuring allocated actions are progressed.
* Assist in the preparing and drafting of Intercompany Agreements (ICAs) for sign off / approval and managing of Intercompany Agreement Tracker.
* Analyse financial accounts and monthly reporting to assess working capital risks and revenue recognition providing good judgement and advice as required.
* Actively work with the working capital team to ensure disputed or delayed invoices are settled and payments are made at the earliest time.
* Assist Finance teams to update status comments for regular Global Reporting.
* Assist in the management of Sub-consultant accounts
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related discipline), Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
* Strong interest in construction law, commercial management, and contract administration.
* Highly organised, possesses strong work ethic, resilience, a proactive attitude, takes initiative, attention to detail and critical thinking and demonstrates a commitment to excellence.
* Strong interest in contracts, commercial management, or construction law.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word).
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Eager to learn and committed to professional development.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Desirable Skills / Knowledge
* Internship or academic experience in commercial or contract-related work
* Basic understanding of contract forms such as FIDIC, NEC, or local frameworks.
* Knowledge of KSA construction laws or public procurement guidelines.
