Job Description:
Location
ESAC, Villanueva de la Cañada, Spain
Our team and mission
The Directorate of Science is responsible for the strategy of ESA in the field of Space Science and for the definition, planning and execution of the Agency's Scientific Programme, for setting the cooperative links with the related programmes of ESA Member States and international partners. The Directorate also provides, as required, scientific advice and support for programmes managed by other directorates of the Agency. In addition, the Directorate is responsible for the optional PRODEX Programme to facilitate science payload provision.
Under the direct authority of the Director of Science, the Programme Planning and Management Support Office (SCI-M) is responsible for the Directorate's overall human and financial resources planning, controlling, and reporting.
The SCI-M controllers work with a multitude of ESA wide and SCI specific tools and applications that continuously evolve and create challenges in terms of data management and digitalisation. ESA Transormation Project resulted in an enhanced focus on digitalisation where the scope of this position is directly related to supporting the Science Directorate in the digitalisation of its reporting processes and data management. Reporting digitalisation is a SCI Directorate objective, delegated to SCI-M where it is broken down into two parts: one is to create a harmonised and structured set of Management Dash Boards or reporting platforms in close cooperation with the corporate teams linking to the newly created Data Factory and ESA DashBoards. On the other hand the project aims at setting up and maintaining a self service platform where SCI controllers and managers can consume data themselves through efficient and solid BI solutions and data sources. This is managed as a project led by SCI-M where this EGT position would have the role of support to the SCI-M Reporting Coordinator (Head of SCI-MS).
