User Experience Designer Co-op/Intern

Job Description:

Duration: 4 Months +
Date: May 4 - August 28th, 2026
Location: Hybrid in Ottawa, Ontario

As a part of our team, you will:
* Create UX specifications for web-based applications.
* Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Apply expert knowledge of user-centered design principles.
* Provide creative and innovative problem-solving solutions.
* Take initiative in design work and contribute both unaided and in a team, with strong teamwork skills.
* Learn and apply the Nokia design system to drive consistency in the design you create

Candidate Requirements:

* Currently a candidate for a Master's, Bachelor's degree, or Diploma in User Experience Design, or a related field with an accredited school in Canada.
* Experience working across disciplines with designers, engineers, developers, and product teams
* A user-centric approach to experience design.
* Experience with UX tools and skills such as Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Miro.
* The ability to clearly communicate results and present suggestions creatively and compellingly.
* A portfolio demonstrating your design methods and rationale behind your solutions.
* Strong visual skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Professionalism with the ability to deliver quality work on tight schedules.
It would be nice if you also had: 
* Experience with design thinking and facilitating workshops & Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript
