Job Description SummaryAs part of the Security Architecture & Advisory team, the Junior Intern - Operational Technology (OT) Security Architect will support the assessment, design, and enhancement of cybersecurity measures in industrial and manufacturing environments. This internship is designed for Master's, or PhD students looking to gain hands-on experience in OT security, where Information Technology (IT) meets the physical world of manufacturing and critical infrastructure.

You will assist in securing industrial control systems (ICS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and other OT assets, while learning about the unique challenges of cybersecurity in production and regulated environments.

We are looking for a motivated student who would like to join our Technology team and would be able to work around 20 hours per week!

Your Key Responsibilities:
* Support senior architects in assessing the security posture of OT environments across manufacturing and production sites
* Assist in documenting OT system architecture, network segmentation, and asset inventories
* Help evaluate risks and vulnerabilities within OT networks and propose basic mitigation strategies
* Participate in projects aimed at improving visibility, monitoring, and control of OT infrastructure
* Assist in aligning OT security controls with industry frameworks and internal policies
* Research and document OT cybersecurity best practices, trends, and threat intelligence

What you'll bring to the role:
* Current enrollment in a Master's, or PhD program in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field
* Interest in cybersecurity and securing critical infrastructure or industrial systems
* Basic understanding of network security concepts, protocols, and architectures
* Willingness to learn about OT-specific technologies (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, DCS) and protocols
* Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and willingness to research new topics
* Effective communication skills in written and spoken English
* Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and adapt to dynamic environments

Preferred Requirements:
* Familiarity with OT/ICS security frameworks such as NIST 800-82, IEC 62443, or ISA standards is a plus
* Exposure to cybersecurity tools or platforms (e.g., asset discovery, network monitoring, intrusion detection)
* Hands-on experience through academic projects, labs, or previous internships is a plus
* Basic knowledge of scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a bonus
