Job Description:

Located in the heart of the old town Vallauris, A.I.R. Vallauris (Artists in Residence), a non-profit association, welcomes artists from around the world to its lodgings and studios to meet with local artists and to research and create new works in a unique setting. The association became active in October, 2001 and has three primary objectives:
- Hosting international artists and the support of contemporary creation
- Education in (primarily, but not exclusively) the field of ceramic arts
- The organisation and realisation of cultural events.

Artists in Residence
A.I.R. Vallauris accommodates several artists at a given time for a period of one to three months, in its residence and studios. Using different mediums, artists (ceramists, sculptors, painters, photographers, videographers and multimedia artists) work from an equipped studio, live in individual furnished spaces and are afforded access to a gallery where their works are displayed and celebrated at the end of their residency period. Media involvement encourages the interest of an invited and engaged audience. The quality of artistic creation is one of the major concerns addressed by the program. A selection committee evaluates applicants based on their artistic experience, merit and project proposal. Now in its 24rd season, A.I.R. Vallauris has welcomed over 500 international artists since its conception in 2001. 

In order to support and achieve these objectives, the activities of the association are focused and grouped into the following programs: Residency, Exhibition, Education, Publication, and Events. Different projects are defined within these programs. 

Roles and Responsibilities:
We offer an internship to a student/graduate in the field of Architecture, Design, Exhibition scenography, Graphic design, Photography. Working as part of a team, the candidate will participate in the different projects within the A.I.R. Vallauris programs.
Specific tasks for the internship will be defined and elaborated upon with the candidate upon consideration of their skills, interest and motivation. Skills in the area of Architecture and design will be specifically called upon for a project that involves the interior design and furbishing of a renovated Art Studios and living spaces. They will also be required to assist in the scenography and curating of exhibitions that will be organized during this time in our two gallery spaces. Graphic design, drawings and photography will be required for these projects. Technical and marketing writing in relation to the promotion of these projects is also required, as well as publication of this material on social media and hard copy (posters, invitation cards, catalogues). A.I.R. Vallauris creates its own line of ceramic products. It may be possible for Architecture and Design students can assist in the development of these works throughout the product lifecycle including graphic design for the purposes of product marketing.
General duties in relation to the activities of the association may also be assigned such as:
 Day-to-day logistic support for the resident artists
 Communication by email and through social media
 Preparation for events

Required Skills
