Job Description:

At Global Customer Service and Parts (GCSP/TPC), we support the entire life cycle of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, from the service-oriented design of our products to market launch, product support and product maintenance. We support the service organizations worldwide, if necessary also on site. In doing so, we mainly work together with our partners from GCSP, Development, Production, Purchasing, Legal and Quality.

We create operating instructions, write diagnostic procedures and are the experts in parts technology, as well as in product evaluation and regulation. In the service area for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, our team is responsible for retrofit technology and accessories for Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

This includes the engineering of retrofit projects from planning and method definition to the publication of technical information and the worldwide distribution of retrofits and digital services.
As part of an IT project, we have begun developing and programming the web-based MBupgrades application, which acts as an interface between us and our global dealer network, digitizing the retrofitting of optional equipment and services and ensuring an efficient customer-oriented process.
The existing web application (front and back end as well as database) is to be expanded in terms of its functionalities and features.
Are you interested in programming web-based applications and can't wait to find out how your knowledge and skills from lectures and internships at your university are put into practice? Or have you already gained some programming experience and would like to expand and professionalize it?
Take your chance now and complete your internship in a highly motivated and innovative team at Mercedes Benz AG. Our department focuses on innovative working models and flexibility, which is why you will be able to work both on site and remotely during your internship.
You will face these challenges:
* Further development of the front- and backend design of the existing web application TypeScript (Angular), Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL)
* Further development of unit tests
* Interface connection to other internal technical documentation systems
* Coordination and implementation of the testing phase of the web application in the project team
* Coordination and implementation of the application release in coordination with the requirements of the central IT of Mercedes-Benz AG

Qualifikationen

* Degree in media informatics, business informatics, computer engineering or a comparable course of study
* Good knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (TypeScript an advantage)
* Initial experience with relational databases
* Good programming skills in object-oriented programming languages (preferably Python)
* Knowledge of unit testing (frameworks)
* Experience with full-stack development and version control systems (especially GitHub) is advantageous
* Initial experience with cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS) is an advantage
* Communication skills
* Ability to work in a team
* Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
* Interest in automotive technology and after-sales service processes is desirable
In conclusion, we would like to say:
If you are motivated to work on these exciting and diverse topics, if you value a collegial environment characterized by teamwork and if you enjoy actively helping to shape challenges - then we look forward to receiving your application!
