Job Description:
NI/Emerson develops a broad portfolio of RF transceiver solutions. The interaction of system architecture, control, and signal processing influences the observable behavior of these devices under changing operating conditions.
In this internship, you will contribute to the experimental characterization of RF transceiver behavior and support the analysis of system performance across different usage scenarios. Your work will help deepen the understanding of system-level behavior in agile RF environments.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
* Set up RF and mixed-signal measurement systems for transceiver characterization
* Develop and execute measurement procedures for system behavior analysis
* Implement automation and data evaluation scripts using Python or LabVIEW
* Analyze measurement results and document findings in a clear and structured way

* You are passionate about wireless technology and like to learn and work with the latest test and measurement techniques and equipment.
* You can manage your time well and reach out to mentors with questions to help drive progress and completion of goals and tasks.
* You work effectively in a group environment, problem-solve, and diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions.
For This Role, You Will Need:
* Ongoing academic studies in Electrical Engineering, Information System Technology, or comparable field of studies (starting from 4th semester)
* Basic programming knowledge (e.g. Python or C/C++)
* Basic knowledge in signal processing and RF measurements
* Good command of spoken and written English and/or German
* Availability for 4 to 6 months starting in October 2026
* This internship must be a mandatory part of your studies
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
* Experience in the practical use of measurement instruments (e.g., Signal Analyzer, VNA, oscilloscope)
* Interest in RF / Mixed-Signal measurement systems
* Analytical thinking and a high degree of initiative
* Mastery of a broad toolset for programming, debugging and analytics (e.g., Python with Plotly and Pandas, VS Code, Excel)
