Growth Strategy Project Intern (Global Payment) - 2026 Start (BS/MS)

Job Description:

The Global Payment team of ByteDance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms including TikTok. As a project intern, you will have the opportunity to engage in impactful short-term projects that provide you with a glimpse of professional real-world experience. You will gain practical skills through on-the-job learning in a fast-paced work environment and develop a deeper understanding of your career interests. We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship from Jan 2026 onwards. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - we encourage you to apply early. Successful candidates must be able to commit to at least 6 months long internship period. Responsibilities - Growth Initiatives: Participate in growth initiatives for International Payment and Fintech businesses; collaborate cross-functionally to explore and implement strategies for driving User and GMV growth. - Strategy & Execution: Regularly monitor industry trends, product lifecycle status, and evolving short-to-long-term business goals to formulate effective growth strategies. Coordinate resources to resolve core issues and align with Strategy, Product, and R&D teams to ensure successful implementation. - Experimentation & Optimization: Maintain awareness of industry growth tactics with a solid understanding of traffic acquisition methods (e.g., marketing subsidies, traffic conversion, and product tool optimization). Participate in the design and performance tracking of A/B tests to provide actionable optimization recommendations. - Platform Collaboration: Collaborate with the internal Growth Platform team to leverage and extend platform capabilities, developing customized user acquisition strategies tailored to specific business characteristics

Candidate Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: - Availability: Able to commit to at least 3 full days per week for a minimum duration of 6 months. - Experience & Mindset: Previous internship experience in Internet Growth Products is preferred. Must be results-oriented, curious, and creative, with the ability to continuously identify new growth opportunities. - Core Competencies: Strong capabilities in cross-team collaboration, project management, and high data sensitivity. Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with SQL for data processing and querying. - Previous internship or project experience in e-commerce, payments, or fintech. - Knowledge of growth or campaign optimization (A/B testing, conversion funnel analysis).
