Job summary

Join our well-established M&A team in London, part of CA-CIB's Global Investment Banking (GIB) division. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the origination and execution of M&A transactions primarily in sectors such as infrastructure, power, renewables, energy transition, and TMT Infra. The position is ideal for candidates who have an understanding of corporate finance and investment banking, whilst also having strong technical skills (analytical, numerical and writing).

Key Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

* Assist in the preparation of marketing pitches in coordination with the GIB team, Sector Coverage, and financing product teams
* Support the execution of mandates (buy side or sell side), including process organisation, financial analysis, and the creation of presentation materials and transaction support documents
* Review in-house training materials to enhance understanding of valuations and other M&A skills
* Seek guidance from experienced M&A bankers on technical aspects and participate actively in team meetings
* Engage in the day-to-day activities of the department, ensuring a thorough integration and contribution to ongoing projects.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

* Graduated within the past 18 months with a 2:1 or equivalent

Experience

* Familiarity with the Investment Banking sector and M&A processes
* Desirable: Prior work experience in modelling, M&A, Corporate Finance, or investments team

Required skills

* Basic knowledge of valuation and modelling techniques, financial theory, and accounting
* Strong writing and communication skills, with attention to detail.
* Team-oriented with a self-starter attitude, capable of working autonomously and in a team.
* Quick learner, eager to scale the learning curve in a new environment.
* Multi-cultural awareness and an understanding of CA-CIB's broader product offering in the Infrastructure/Power sectors

Technical skills required

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills
