Job Purpose: Join Sony Music Publishing as an Intern. Learn from the largest music publisher in the world by driving the accuracy and effectiveness of business practices in the department. Gain a deeper understanding of the daily tasks of a Publishing A&R; how to discover & scout new talent, sign a new creative ad coordinate creative sessions.
What You'll Do:
* Research unsigned songwriters and breaking artists via streaming DSPs, and provide a weekly report to the A&R team.
* Help with administrative needs that include, but are not limited to, completing daily tasks for the executive team, allocation of receipts/folios for expense reports, and organizing databases with updated information.
* Upload songs into our PITCH database
* Create information blurbs and release playlists for signed songwriters
* Listen to demos from SMP songwriters to provide creative ideas for session ideas and pitching opportunities.
* When applicable, attend NY concerts and showcases, as well as studio sessions.
Who You Are:
* Currently enrolled in a college or university
* Ideal candidate will have work experience in the music/entertainment industry OR is enrolled in a music-industry related program
* Passionate about the music and entertainment business, and have a desire to build a career in the industry
* Able to adapt quickly to a changing environment with minimal disruption
* An excellent communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members, external partners, and senior management
* A highly organized person that pays close attention to the details
* You are hungry to learn and grow. You are curious, ask questions and get excited about new projects
* Must be authorized to work in the United States

DISCLAIMER:
The anticipated base hourly for this position is $18. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
