What this role is all about
As a DevOps Engineer, you will work on infrastructure at a scale most engineers never touch, operating more than 100 Elasticsearch clusters with more than 1.2 petabytes of data across multi-cloud and on-prem environments. You will join the team at an exciting moment, with direct exposure to ongoing work that connects Elasticsearch platforms with AI systems, contributing from day one.

You will have real ownership over how systems are built and evolved, working in a collaborative environment where code reviews, knowledge sharing, and honest feedback are part of everyday work, all within Infobip, a global leader in cloud communications with engineering teams worldwide.

What you'll do
* Operate, maintain, and upgrade Elasticsearch clusters, including index management, cluster maintenance, reboots, and version upgrades
* Automate infrastructure and operational processes using Ansible, focusing on readable, maintainable automation
* Work daily with Linux-based systems in containerized environments using Docker
* Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions for large-scale systems
* Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation supporting deployment, testing, and operational workflows
* Perform performance analysis and troubleshooting on distributed systems handling very large data volumes
* Collaborate with developers and other DevOps engineers to support custom services built around Elasticsearch using Java-based components
* Participate in team rituals such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and on-call rotations with a best-effort response model

What makes you a strong fit
* 3+ years of hands-on experience working as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar infrastructure-focused role
* Solid experience working with Linux systems and containerized environments (Linux, Docker)
* Hands-on experience with automation tools, especially Ansible
* Experience operating or supporting distributed systems or data platforms at scale
* Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools, including version control and automated deployments
* Practical experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms
* Problem-solving mindset with a focus on stability, scalability, and reliability
* Comfortable collaborating within a team, sharing knowledge, and giving and receiving constructive feedback
* Fluent in English, both spoken and written

Nice-to-have qualifications
* Experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, including large clusters and diverse use cases
* Exposure to observability or logging platforms, especially those built on Elasticsearch (for example, Graylog)
* Familiarity with Kafka-based environments or data-intensive platforms
* Experience working with distributed systems, e.g. Kubernetes
* Experience working in Agile teams with sprint-based delivery
* Curiosity for underlying technologies and a desire to continuously learn and explore beyond assigned tasks
* Familiarity with AI/LLM concepts - how models consume data, tool use, or MCP/agent architectures
* Experience integrating infrastructure with AI platforms or building data pipelines that feed AI systems
