Assay Development Scientist for Bioavailability (all genders), Frankfurt a.M.

We are looking for a highly motivated Scientist for the Development of Bioavailability Assays with strong hands-on laboratory skills and a passion for innovative science to join our dynamic Bayer CropScience team! In this role, you will play a crucial part in the characterization and optimization of active ingredients and advance our Agrokinetic toolbox to drive scientific excellence in the field of crop protection. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Support the discovery, evaluation and optimization of active ingredients for Crop Protection by applying agrokinetic approaches, particularly plant-based methods and analytical readouts.

* Establish, optimize and validate novel assay workflows for the isolation of functional organelles, enabling customized mechanistic investigations.

* Independently plan, conduct and troubleshoot wet-laboratory experiments, ensuring high-quality sample preparation, assay execution and robust data generation.

* Evaluate experimental results, identify technical limitations and propose data-driven improvements to strengthen assay performance and scientific relevance.

* Contribute to scientific problem-solving through literature research, method adaptation and close collaboration with colleagues across biology, biochemistry, and data science.

* Clearly document experimental workflows and results while communicating effectively within the project team.

WHO YOU ARE

* A completed Master's degree (M. Sc.) in Biology, Biochemistry or a related field is required.

* Strong hands-on experience in molecular biology and biochemistry is essential.

* Several years of experience in organelle enrichment or isolation workflows, including the use of Western blotting to assess sample quality or protein markers, is mandatory.

* A proactive, solution-oriented mindset for assay and method development will help you succeed in this role.

* A strong interest in the mechanistic understanding of ADME processes in plant systems is highly relevant.

* Experience with mass spectrometry is an advantage.

* Clear communication, attention to detail and a collaborative working style are important, along with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

* Fluency in written and spoken English is required; German language skills are an advantage.
