Manager, Sales Planning & Analysis

The position of Manager, Sales Planning & Analysis (f/m/d) is part of our Finance, Accounting & Audit organization. In this role, you will play a key part in financial steering, planning, and analysis, working closely with Senior Leadership and cross-functional teams. Your focus: enabling data-driven decision-making, reducing financial risks, and strengthening the performance of our business units.
A typical day to day would include:
· Preparation of sales reports, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic and operational planning
· Deep-dive Analysis of sales by customer, identify trends, risks, and business drivers
· Development and maintenance of financial models to evaluate scenarios, investments, profitability and strategic initiatives
· Advising senior management on cost management, pricing strategies, and market and competitive developments
· Close collaboration with the Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely month-end closing, revenue recognition adjustments including provisions and accruals
· Monitoring external economic conditions and assessing their potential impact on the business
· Development, monitoring, and continuous improvement of KPIs and performance metrics on sales by customers, by customer groups, key strategic accounts to gain understanding about market trends and territory based sales trends
· Deriving financial recommendations to increase profitability and minimize risks
· Supporting cross-functional projects aimed at efficiency improvements and financial optimization
* Ownership of system processes that support specific stepouts for correct revenue accounting, sales defferals
* Calculating rebates, discounts, monitoring timely payouts to customers
* Evaluating equipment sales recognition and assuring proper accounting as per IFRS standards
What You'll Bring to Alcon
· Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Controlling, Business Analytics, or a comparable field (Master's degree preferred) with Several years of experience in Controlling, Business Planning, FP&A, or Finance
· Experience in building and analyzing financial models as well as managing budgets and forecasts
· Hands-on experience with the month-end closing process and collaboration with accounting
· Med dev, Healthcare or Pharma experience is a plus
· Strong analytical skills and a high affinity for numbers with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear and actionable recommendations
· Confident use of common BI tools, Excel/spreadsheet models, and ERP/financial systems
· Strong communication and presentation skills when working with diverse stakeholders
· Proactive, structured, and detail-oriented working style
· Team-oriented mindset and enjoyment of cross-functional collaboration
