Hi, we're glad you're here! We are hiring to our Aviva Services Excellence Centre!

We're looking for a Quality Engineering Lead to set the bar for BuiltIn Quality across Release Process Team. You'll own the test strategy and framework for complex, multiteam initiatives, champion shiftleft practices, and ensure every release is reliable, observable, and compliant with the Aviva Change Framework quality gates. Working closely with Product, Engineering, and Platforms, you'll turn requirements into executable, automated checks integrated directly into our CI/CD pipelines, so quality becomes everyone's habit.

What will you be doing?

* Design, own and evolve a scalable test framework across all layers, define standards and practices, and embed SAFe Built-In Quality principles aligned with Aviva Change Framework.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to shape testable stories, ensure comprehensive functional and non-functional coverage, and manage dependencies and risks with mitigation plans.
* Drive automation within CI/CD pipelines for fast feedback, promote shift-left practices, and select and scale modern testing tools effectively.
* Establish quality gates and release criteria, oversee UAT and regression strategies, and provide evidence-based reporting while escalating risks and corrective actions.
* Build and coach a high-performing QE chapter, ensure clean handover of QE assets to platform teams, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across frameworks.

What we're looking for?

Must have skills:

* Proficient in coding with Java, C#, and Python; experienced in building automation frameworks from scratch, including pipelines and reporting.
* Hands-on with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow, Behave), Gherkin, and living documentation; solid understanding of databases, APIs, web services; automation-first approach with manual testing only where it adds unique value.
* Fluent in Azure DevOps and test management tools (Xray preferred); familiar with AWS/Azure; curious about emerging tech (GenAI/ML); self-sufficient and quick to cross-skill across stacks and tools.

Desired skills:
* Experience leading QE for transformational change initiatives in regulated environments (financial services/insurance).
* Performance engineering (JMeter/Locust), security testing exposure, and observability/telemetry familiarity.
* Contract testing (Pact or similar) and service virtualization.
* Accessibility testing practices and tooling.
