Join Euronext as a Junior Java & Oracle Developer

Are you ready to shape the future of capital markets?
We are looking for a Junior Java Developer to join the Euronext Securities Technology team in Porto. In this role, you will collaborate with distributed teams across Europe and work closely with Euronext Securities units. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and evolution of critical systems, using AI-driven tools and modern engineering practices, while learning from experienced professionals. You will report to the Local CTO & Head of Software Factory.

You will primarily be responsible for:
* Supporting the design, development and maintenance of distributed systems using Java in a regulated environment
* Providing technical support for existing applications, including troubleshooting and resolving issues
* Assisting with the implementation and integration of service-oriented architectures, including event-driven and event streaming solutions such as Kafka and ActiveMQ
* Working with containers and platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift under the guidance of senior team members
* Assisting with database and storage solutions, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis or Elasticsearch
* Supporting the development and maintenance of REST APIs and system integrations
* Contributing to observability through monitoring, logging and alerting
* Applying AI-driven development practices to enhance productivity and quality

Your profile:
* Academic background or initial experience in Java development, ideally through enterprise or academic projects
* Interest in distributed and service-oriented architectures
* Exposure to or willingness to learn about Kubernetes, OpenShift, Kafka, ActiveMQ, enterprise job schedulers (e.g. Quartz), and modern database/storage technologies such as Oracle and PostgreSQL
* Basic knowledge of REST APIs, system integration and observability practices
* Interest in AI-driven development and willingness to learn new tools and practices
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Good communication and teamwork abilities
* Fluency in English, both spoken and written
* Desirable: Any experience or coursework in financial services, capital markets, post-trade systems, regulated or high-availability environments, or large-scale digital platforms
