Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Medical Science Liaisons in assigned therapy areas.
* Oversee execution of medical plans and ensure alignment with strategic and tactical objectives.
* Assess MSL competencies, set objectives, and manage performance and talent reviews.
* Ensure timely, high-quality responses to medical enquiries in compliance with standards.
* Coordinate collection and reporting of medical insights to inform Novartis strategies and education.
* Recruit, onboard, and support continuous development of MSLs in collaboration with Medical Leads.
* Manage team budget, resource allocation, and approve expense reports for assigned therapy areas.
* Foster cross-functional collaboration and ensure compliance with internal and external policies.
Essential Requirements:
* Advanced degree in healthcare (MD, MSc, or PhD in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, or Chemistry).
* Proven field-based experience with strong ability to apply medical expertise in practice.
* Skilled in interpreting, communicating, and implementing medical strategies effectively.
* Strong leadership mindset, demonstrating integrity, accountability, and customer focus.
* Solid understanding of the healthcare environment and current market dynamics.
* Fluent in English and Romanian, with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Comprehensive knowledge of ethical and compliance standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
Desirable Requirements :
* Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop medical personnel in a field-based setting; prior people management experience preferred.
* Experience in managing budgets, resources, and operations within a medical or pharmaceutical environment.
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a medical, pharmaceutical, clinical, or scientific role.
