Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) Technician (Level 1)

JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The MOC Tech (Level 1) is responsible for the effective day to day co-ordination, provision and prioritisation of the engineering and logistical support to achieve the RSAF flying requirements and RSAF Operational Ready Rates at KFdAB Taif. Maintaining frequent contact with the maintenance support organizations to ensure assets and resources are available to meet maintenance ETICS. Preparing and presenting maintenance status to Senior RSAF officers
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Supervision of all MOC training and day-to-day activities within the Maintenance Operations Flight.
* Monitor and verify task completion status and act on any delays, work holds or non-compliances.
* Priority progression of logistic support elements to support the maintenance effort.
* Monitor and prioritise the Maintenance, coordinating and dispatching support elements in response to requests from the Rectification controllers.
* Be familiar with the maintenance support organisation, their capabilities and operations, in order to coordinate tasks which, involve the participation of more than one engineering element, including external agencies.
* Monitor the tracking of relevant TIs, TQs and incident reports that have a direct impact on critical resources or assets and may therefore require logistical support.
* Assist in the compilation the Daily Aircraft Status Report.
* Prepare the Daily Morning Brief with the serviceability state of the Aircraft.
* In consultation with the AGF Maintenance Manager and Supply Controller determine and prioritise the cannibalisation of aircraft components (iaw RSAF Guidelines), and monitoring the quantity of robs per aircraft IAW RSAF RFL.
* Maintaining an overview of current and future repair capability on the unit.
* Deputise for the MOF Team Leader during periods of absence.
* Have a working knowledge of the Engineering Support System in order to carry out searches for information, cannibalisation and interrogation of ESS for aircraft serviceability and flying programme.
* Carrying out thorough shift handovers.
* Support the QC and higher HQ reporting process.
RECRUITMENT
Essential:
* Must be educated to HNC level or recognised equivalent or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training.
* Demonstrable experience working as a supervisor conducting Data Management on a busy, military operational flying unit.
* Must have completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship in industry/military or similar qualification in aircraft systems.
* Must have previous ESS experience with a formal 'Q' annotation.
* Must have extensive post qualification experience of military fast jet maintenance support, within an operational military flying environment.
* Good level of interpersonal skill to co-ordinate a number of activities and the ability to communicate, influence and direct decision making.
* Good understanding of company processes and procedures and industry knowledge.
* Fluent in English
Desirable:
* An understanding of engineering operations procedures within a Maintenance Operations Control environment.
* Proven Managerial experience within the aerospace industry preferably gained on 3rd and/or 4th Generation military aircraft at Supervisor level or equivalent.
* Experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country preferred.
* The ability to act upon their own initiative within the scope of their job.
* A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail.
* A track record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
