What You'll Do
As a Research Associate within BCG Vantage's Global Research Organization (GRO), you will be an integral part of the EUR GRO team and will collaborate with the Topic Activation Vantage team to provide specialized technology research support across the Power & Utilities and/or Oil & Gas sectors. Through the delivery of high-quality secondary research, you will contribute to BCG's client work and knowledge base by supporting proposals, client cases, and business or internal development initiatives.
You will clearly synthesize, package, articulate and deliver your findings in a timely and accurate manner and conduct research on commercial, multi-industry and economic topics. Excellent organizational skills are essential for successfully managing a variety and volume of research requests by accurately summarizing data and facts into appropriate and timely output i.e. email, Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Along with supporting research products (i.e. news alerts, company profiles etc.), you will also contribute to knowledge capture and documentation.
BCG's Energy Practice Area help companies navigate an increasingly complex business climate.
In Energy we cover the Oil and Power & Gas sectors, including all "Green Energy" and Social Impact, Climate and Sustainability sectors. We work with the full range of players in the industry: integrated international oil companies (IOCs), national oil companies (NOCs), upstream players, oilfield service companies, refiners, petrochemical producers, and oil trading firms, integrated power and gas utilities, international power producers, renewable specialists, energy wholesalers and retailers, commodity traders, and infrastructure and industry service providers, water utilities and waste-management firms, governments, regulators, industry associations, NGOs, technology companies, OEMs and suppliers to the energy and environment industry, energy-intense heavy industry players.

What You'll Bring
* Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Engineering, business administration, or related fields. Other quantitative disciplines (e.g., Mathematics, Physics) are also considered.
* 0-2 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in research, analytical roles, or consulting environments within the Energy sector (Oil & Gas preferred).
* Strong Excel skills, with the ability to handle sizeable datasets and conduct structured analyses.
* Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini). Exposure to Python and tools such as GitHub Copilot for research support, task automation, data processing, or AI API integration is a plus.
* Professional certification in AI/ML or Generative AI or equivalent hands-on experience will be a plus
* Demonstrated interest in business topics and structured problem-solving ability
* Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively within a collaborative, global team environment
* Fluency in English required; Spanish is a plus.
