Site GPS Lead

Location: Ware, UK
Minimum 3 days per week required on site.

The purpose of the site GPS Lead role exists to lead the deployment of (COMPANY NAME) Production System (GPS) and embed it into the Ware Global Supply Chain site to support delivery of the Business Strategy and improve Business Performance (Innovation, Performance, Trust, and Culture).
As a key member of the Site Leadership Team (reporting to the Site Director), the Site GPS Lead is accountable for:
* Ensuring the day to day continuous improvement activities result in a continuous improvement in the Site Performance towards the IPTC goals.
* GPS is used to develop the capability of all the Site personnel to implement day to day continuous improvement activities.
* Coaching / training the Site teams, including SLT and Site Director in GPS.
* Leading the 'self-assessment' of the Site vs. the GPS Maturity matrices and the lead the site to close any gaps.
* Supporting the Regional GPS teams in any "Turnaround Deployment of GPS" within their site
* Leading overall site business performance processes.
* Ensuring annual Strategy Deployment process is executed and aligned to business and site priorities.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Lead the team of GPS Practitioners and build capability within the team. Work with the Site Director and the SLT to identify and agree on the GPS implementation in alignment with Site Strategy Deployment.
2. Lead the day to day deployment of the GPS as well as all related improvement activities at a site level (business impact on Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, People and Innovation).
3. Support the Site Director and SLT in identification of both financial and non-financial benefits associated with GPS implementation.
4. Deploy the self-assessment program and GPS maturity matrices and lead the Site to close any gaps in application.
5. Ensure effectiveness of Site GPS Council in governing and tracking GPS deployment and Site Maturity.
6. Member of the Site Leadership Team and Regional GPS network; including reporting performance at Regional calls and sharing best practices within the wider to GPS network.
7. Implement the capability plan as agreed by the Regional GPS team and GPS network:
* Support / Deliver the required training.
* Coach Site teams to develop and sustain continuous improvement mindsets.
* Support continuous capability development of self and other GPS Practitioners, using standard training modules developed by the Central GPS Team.

8. Support / ensure consistency of progress across the Site and Region, by sharing lessons learnt.
9. Benchmarking Site performance against other sites / companies to set appropriate operational ambition.
10. Be a subject matter expert in GPS and role model GPS skills and behaviours.

* Good level of understanding of Lean / Sigma methodology (GPS Level 4, Black Belt / Green Belt)
* Strong coaching skills
* Highly effective communications skills both written and oral coupled with the ability to tailor to a variety of audiences.
* Understands the complexities of transformational projects and people change management concepts.
* Networking and influence at Site Management Team level
* Project planning and execution management
* Diagnosis of complex performance issues and problem solving in the context of site goals

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
* University degree or equivalent ideally in manufacturing, Engineering, Quality or Logistics based
* Managing individual and team performance.
* Committed to delivering high quality results, overcoming challenges, focusing on what matters, execution.
* Implementing change initiatives and leading change
