We are currently seeking an experienced sales leader to manage a team of Sales and Key Account Managers working within the Manufacturing & Processing market sector.

The successful candidate will have strong business acumen coupled with the ability to create a trusting and engaging environment as a leader.

Skills we are looking for:

Strong commercial track record including transversal relationship management.
Experience of leading people and developing teams, utilising CRM software to drive performance.
Interpersonal communication skills with the ability to share information with clarity, simplicity and belief.
Experience of working collaboratively within a multi-business organisation.
Demonstrate the ability to set and deliver a growth strategy.

Industry experience is desirable but not essential.
* Development and agree the sales strategy and objectives for customers in coordination with the Market Unit Manager and Product Manager. Cascades the agreed strategy and objectives to the wider sales team in the form of Targets. Perform a yearly review and run a continuous measurement process.
* Coordinate the sales team in order to define priorities according to the sales plan and ensure coordination with national function.
* Identify and follow gas and non-gas competitors actions. Collect information through sales team visits of competitor's customers in order to build market knowledge.
* Detect new market needs and push bottom up needs for innovation to the Market Unit Manager and M&P Offer Deployer.
* Manage the sales team in their day to day activities, creating a trusting and engaging environment as a leader.
* Participate in selected customer visits in order to support and coach the team where required.
* Motivate and support the team by ensuring regular contact and mutual feedback loops.
* Lead by example at all time, keeping AL's best interests at the core of all decisions.
* Ensure that the sales team achieves individual objectives, thus ensuring that the overall team achieves the collective Target. Initiate corrective actions within the team if / when underperformance occurs.
* Meet key customers and their respective decision makers. Develop a network of contacts, building successful, trusting relationships across the M&P customer base.
* Analyse customers sales, scores and relationships via CRM (Salesforce). Ensure that each Market Specialist has a valid pipeline with sufficient numbers of opportunities throughout each level of the sales cycle to achieve Targets.
* Support and participate in the main sales opportunities where escalation is required.
* Hold responsibility for growth of turnover and profitability within the M&P portfolio. Review all Sales Offers to ensure they are in line with the wider strategy, and authorise those in line with Delegation of Authority levels. Regularly review profitability of Base accounts and propose strategies to improve / boost levels.
* Manage sales development, price management, offers rollout and market share by proposing and validating specific actions for the M&P sales team
* Is responsible for the customer satisfaction in the district
* Support the cash-collection as / when required, on request from the Credit and Collection Manager.
* Safety
* Work within the parameters of AL's Industrial Management System (IMS) at all times, and ensure the same of the full M&P division.
* Abide by the current Safety, Health and Environment policies giving priority to the safety of staff and customers at all times.

* Knowledge of and experience in creating and deploying a multi-faceted Sales strategy.
* Ability to present examples of previous sales strategies deployed along with detail of the success / growth seen as a result.
* Experience in managing and directing a sales team.
* Ability to present examples of strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
* Interest in continuous improvement and experience in change management.
* Experience in monitoring and tracking sales goals with experience of using CRM software.
* Experience in preparing and presenting monthly sales reports and analysis.
* Experience in customer relationship management and value add sales.
* Excellent relationship skills and the ability to build lasting relationships.
* Experience in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
* The ability to speak clearly and communicate information so others can understand.
* High levels of self-awareness.
