Job Summary and Qualifications

​​The Pharmacy Technician I contributes to high quality, patient-centered care performing technical tasks vital to the activities of the pharmacy department. Under the supervision of the attending Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician I duties include but are not limited to: accurately compounds, fills, labels, and distributes ordered medication according to departmental procedure and federal/state/local regulations. The Pharmacy Technician I maintains the drug inventory and patient records and implements quality checks and performance improvement measures. Such duties include, but need not be limited to: maintaining patient records; set up, packaging, and labeling medication doses; filling and dispensing routine orders for stock supplies of patient-care areas; refilling and inventorying automated dispensing machines, maintaining inventories of medication supplies. Technicians must function in strict accordance with standard, written procedures and guidelines with deviation approved by the supervising pharmacist. Organizational relationships include being directly responsible to the Lead Technician, Pharmacist, Clinical Manager, Assistant Director, and Director of Pharmacy.​

* (PHARM-Intern) Pharmacist - Intern, or (PharmTech) Pharmacy Technician License
