To accelerate innovation in antibody discovery and preclinical development, argenx is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Bio-IT Scientist. This role will be pivotal in enabling data-driven science through digital workflows, computational biology integration, and deployment of cutting-edge antibody engineering tools. You will collaborate with scientists and technical colleagues to improve data access, automate lab data flows, and support translational research efforts.

This position is based at our facility in Zwijnaarde, Belgium, and expects daily on-site presence.

Key responsibilities
* Design and implement customized digital lab notebooks and dashboards to streamline workflows in scientific teams, focusing on democratizing data access via dashboards.
* Collaborate with data science stakeholders to ensure seamless data integration, accessibility, and usability for machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
* Scout, develop and implement automated data ingestion and preprocessing pipelines by integrating lab instruments and external data sources using APIs, scripting, and containerization.
* Scout and deploy the latest antibody structure and developability tools in containerized environments to support antibody engineering efforts.
* Optionally, analyse public biological datasets to extract insights relevant to research and facilitate the integration and interpretation of such datasets into early research workflows.

Skills & Experience
* Understanding of molecular biology and protein biochemistry, preferably tailored towards antibody discovery.
* Strong experience with API endpoints, data integration, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, R).
* Proficiency in database management, data visualization, and digital lab notebook or LIMS platforms.
* Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and bioinformatics tools.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, with excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset.
* A unique blend of technical expertise and passion for translational research, with a strong desire to drive meaningful improvements in R&D workflows.
* Experience working closely with laboratory colleagues to validate and implement new workflows, tools, and processes, with a willingness to learn from and adapt to the needs of the lab.
* A results-driven approach, motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the discovery and development of novel therapeutics, and a passion for seeing scientific concepts translated into real-world applications.
