Your impact
When it comes to environmental consulting, we're focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We're looking for an entry-level Scientist, Geologist or Engineer to work on complex site characterization and remediation projects for government and private-sector clients.
Based out of our Sacramento, CA office, you'll participate in a variety of field and office tasks related to planning and implementing environmental investigation and remediation projects. You'll learn from other experienced staff who are ready to mentor you, and you'll pass your knowledge on to others. You'll gain valuable experience in soil and groundwater sampling as well as drilling and subcontractor oversight, spending up to 50 to 75% of your time in the field. You'll balance your field work with some time spent in the office evaluating and reviewing data, writing reports and preparing project documents, and coordinating logistics for field activities. You'll be juggling multiple tasks, so we'll rely on you to prioritize effectively, keeping the big-picture in mind. Safety will be your priority, as you contribute to "incident free" operations and maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety in everything you do.

Here's what you'll need
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science or related field
* Ability to travel up to 40% - 70% time may be required
* Be physically fit to perform fieldwork and wear a respirator, if required
* United States Citizenship
* Valid Drivers license
Ideally, You'll Also Have
* Internship experience within environmental consulting including field observation and/or environmental sampling experience, also including writing reports (text, table, and figure preparation)
* Master's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, environmental science, geology or other closely related technical degree
* Engineer- or geologist-in-training certification (i.e., passing the Fundamentals of Engineering or Geology exam)
* Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs
* Self-driven time management and organizational skills
* Ability to build relationships, motivate others, and being part of teams determined to drive results
* Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with clients and stakeholders.

The base salary range for this position is $66,560.00 to $94,600.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
