The Project:
The operator of a major international airport is considering a further update to expand the main terminal, reconfigure concourses and phase out legacy passenger transport systems.
Shared with airline stakeholders earlier this year, the proposed programme is estimated at c.$22 billion, with completion targeted in the mid-2030s, forming part of a wider transformation to support significant long-term passenger growth.
By comparison, the existing master plan approved in 2025 outlined c.$7 billion of phased capital investment, aligned to projections of up to 90 million annual passengers by the end of the century.

You'll Be Responsible For:
* Leads the MEP team on the project(s) providing clear direction, guidance and the encouragement of compliance with Mace standards.
* Accountable for the successful delivery of the MEP services including management of the Programme, Health Safety & Wellbeing, Quality & Commissioning of the project.
* Partners and builds working relationships with key project stakeholders, forming strong working relationships with the Client, Consultants, Trade Contractors and other team leaders.
* Leads for MEP in the tendering process and provide technical and commercial support to bid teams and sector leadership/bid leads.
* Ensures adequate internal and external resource needs are identified and agreed.
* Establishes and executes procurement strategies and ensures specialist packages and appointments are procured against the agreed scope demarcation and to budget.
* Oversees initial review of contracts and scope, assist in the preparation of budgets, value engineering, schedules and trade contracts and provide support to the commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle in terms of reviewing progress or resolving issues.
* Defines and establishes project strategic plans in conjunction with the Mace operating framework and strategic priorities, such as Prefabrication (C2P), Commissioning and Safety.
* Oversees design reviews on information provided by Consultants and Trade specialists, checking for compliance, coordination and completeness, including Embodied Carbon and Operational Energy associated with the MEP Services design aligned to RIBA and BSRIA design frameworks.
* Enables achievement and executes delivery strategies and programmes for all phases of the project, ensuring the key milestones, interfaces, dependencies, logistics and work sequencing are all properly considered.
Influences and implements Commissioning strategies in line with the Mace Commissioning standards inclusive of IST approach, ATP's and Soft Landings.
* Supports project close out to ensure all elements of completion are delivered to a high standard, such as commissioning, as built drawings, O&M Manuals and client training.
* Oversees the identification of risks and the production of mitigation plans.
* Accountable for the review of issues to drives continuous improvement, providing lessons learned through the knowledge share process.
* Manages a large team (or several) of senior direct reports, demonstrating effective leadership to ensure excellence in delivery against plans, championing a continuous improvement culture throughout all activities.
* Delivers performance management, technical development, direction and coaching.
* Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You'll need to have:
* Advanced knowledge of engineering systems (design, installation, processes, prefabrication, commissioning) to manage projects from tender through to completion.
* Strong understanding of construction elements, sequencing, and dependencies to ensure coordination across multiple work packages.
* Advanced planning and project control expertise, including critical path, scheduling, and commissioning from pre-construction to practical completion.
* Solid commercial management knowledge covering procurement, change control, risk, cost forecasting, and programme impact.
* Comprehensive understanding of health & safety, quality assurance, and system commissioning, including integration (BMS, Cause & Effect, IST).
* Experience in the relevant construction sector.
* Demonstrated track record of successful projects/contribution.
* Proficiency in building services or a specified engineering discipline.
* Trade/Technical apprenticeship or Graduate development programme.
* Formal Engineering training (HNC. HND, BTEC or equivalent).
* SMSTS and CSCS card.
Note: The estimated starting salary for this position is $250k. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
