Join an expanding, high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) dedicated to caring for critically ill patients with congenital and acquired heart disease. As a Per Diem front-line CICU Hospitalist, you will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary model to develop and execute complex care plans on an as-needed basis to support unit capacity and scheduling gaps.

* Administrative Report: Heart Center's Director of Business Operations

Key Responsibilities
* Direct Patient Care: Serve as the primary, front-line provider-responding to bedside inquiries, entering orders, communicating with consultants, and updating families during assigned shifts.
* Care Coordination: Partner with Cardiology, Heart Failure, and Cardiac Critical Care Attendings to ensure clinical plans are implemented efficiently.
* Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Work alongside fellows, APPs, and trainees, providing clinical education and escalating care concerns when appropriate.
* Operational Flexibility: Adapt to a dynamic inpatient environment to support optimum patient care and team depth during peak census or staffing shortages.

Schedule & Hours
* Job Type: Per Diem (Variable/As-Needed)
* Shift Availability: Requires flexibility to pick up daytime, evening, and weekend shifts based on CICU scheduling needs and vacancy coverage.
* Commitment: Minimum shift requirements per month/gaps coverage will be discussed during the interview process to align with pediatric hospitalist standards across Seattle Children's sites.

Required Education and Experience
MD Degree.
Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges at Seattle Children's, and assigned medical center(s).

Required Credentials
Licensed as a Physician in the State of Washington or State within WAMI region.
Federal DEA Registration.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 3 months of hire (only if required for special privileges).
Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment.

Preferred
Experience in pediatric emergency medicine.

Compensation Range
$145.59 per hour

Salary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

Seattle Children's offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
