Position Overview
We are looking for a Junior Technician - Electrical/ Electronic Systems (Rail / Mobility Sector) in Athens, Greece to support the installation, maintenance, and technical support of electrical and electronic systems related to railway and urban transportation applications (e.g., signaling, telecommunications, power systems). They participate in field projects under the guidance of more experienced technicians and engineers.
What are your responsibilities?
* Assist with the installation and wiring of electrical and electronic equipment (e.g., panels, cables, signaling systems, telecommunications systems).
* Participate in the troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution of technical malfunctions in live and operational systems.
* Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
* Reading and having a basic understanding of electrical drawings and technical documentation.
* Supporting testing and commissioning of installed systems.
* Adherence to safety and work procedures (EHS policies).
* Collaboration with the project team (engineers, supervisors, subcontractors).
* Participation in shifts or work outside standard hours when required.
What do you need to bring with you?
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, Mechanical Engineering or similar from a Technical Educational Institute (TEI), High School (EPAL), or Training Institute (IEK).
* Basic knowledge of electrical installations and wiring systems, and fiber optic cabling networks.
* Familiarity with power tools and measuring instruments (multimeter, etc.).
* Good knowledge of basic electrical safety rules.
* Ability to work on-site.
* Team spirit and a willingness to learn.
* Good knowledge of Greek and basic knowledge of English (technical terminology).
* Driver's license
Nice to Have:
* Experience (including internships) in infrastructure, industrial, or railway projects.
* Basic knowledge of automation or telecommunications systems.
* Familiarity with PLCs or SCADA systems (at a basic level).
* License to practice as an electrician (if available).
* Willingness to develop expertise in more specialized technical areas (e.g., signaling, rolling stock, ETCS).
