A Day in the Life

A Day in The Life Of:
Responsibilities may include the following, and other duties may be assigned.
* Perform a variety of Engineering Maintenance tasks in the Mechanical and Automated Control Areas
* Fabrication and machining of components and fixtures utilising Lathes, Milling Machines and other workshop equipment, to aid manufacturing
* Ensures maintenance activities are performed and delivered to the required safety and cGMP standards
* Minimise equipment downtime through rapid response to issues, the identification of root cause, and implementation of corrective/preventative measures
* Records maintenance activity, corrective actions and root cause of issues in the CMMS system
* Represent the Engineering Maintenance function for equipment design and performance improvement initiatives
* Works from schematics, Engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions
* Executes preventative maintenance routines in compliance with schedule.
* Provide technical support when required for Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Safety
* Utilise best in class maintenance tools to support the implementation of the Medtronic Maintenance Excellence process
* Provide technical support to Lean Sigma initiatives/continuous improvement projects or other task/project teams as required
* Assist with Engineering and Manufacturing training

Key Skills & Experience
* We are looking for a qualified person with a minimum Level 6 Mechanical craft certificate or academic qualification in a relevant discipline
* Proven track record of hands-on mechanical and automation maintenance experience
* Experience at using manual lathes, milling machines and other machine tools. CNC machining experience desirable
* Ability to demonstrate Medtronic mindsets in their work and good presentation skills are desirable
* The ideal candidate will be a dynamic team player and can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams
* A good communicator and fluent in English, both in writing and speak
* Experienced with computer literacy and team dynamic skills
* Knowledge of automated systems is an advantage

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).
