Manufacturing Engineer - Customer Product Deployment
📍 Location: Querétaro, Mexico

👥 Team: Customer Product Deployment (CPD)
What will you do?
As a Manufacturing Engineer within the Customer Product Deployment (CPD) team, you will play a key role in enabling high-volume, repeatable production of customer switchboard designs. You will be responsible for industrializing products and processes to ensure safe, efficient, and scalable manufacturing while aligning with the Schneider Production System (SPS).
You will lead the technical onboarding of repeatable customer designs into production and act as the manufacturing focal point throughout the deployment process, collaborating closely with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Industrialization, and Plant Operations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead manufacturing engineering activities to onboard high-volume, repeatable switchboard designs into production
* Define, document, and standardize manufacturing processes, layouts, and work instructions
* Ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) readiness during Customer Product Deployment
* Apply SPS principles to improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery
* Design and validate manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, equipment, and layouts
* Execute risk assessments, PFMEAs, control plans, and process validations
* Support launch activities including cost estimates, CAPEX justification, and capacity planning
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, ergonomics, material flow, and OEE
* Provide hands-on technical support on the shop floor and lead projects from concept to execution
What qualifications will make you successful?
Required qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related)
* Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Quality
* Solid knowledge of problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, PFMEA, Control Plans)
* Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills
* Experience working cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
* Willingness to work hands-on on the manufacturing floor
Preferred qualifications:
* Knowledge or certification in Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
* Experience in high-mix or high-volume electrical equipment manufacturing (switchboards preferred)
* Experience with SAP, Excel, Access and/or SQL databases
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, layout design, or process simulation tools
* Basic knowledge of PLCs, test equipment, or vision systems
* Familiarity with Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure platform
* Proven delivery of projects with measurable impact on efficiency, quality, safety, or OEE
