Principal BI Specialist (Power BI)

We are currently seeking a Principal BI Specialist to take responsibility for creating strategies and implementing best practices to enhance the value of insights, reduce outages, and manage costs effectively.

As a Principal BI Specialist at Sage, you will consult and collaborate with analytics teams, support the Power BI user community, monitor and optimize tenancy performance, and lead the Power BI Centre of Excellence (CoE) and Community Forum.

*** Please note that this role is hybrid and will require you to work 3 days a week from our Newcastle office. ***
* Collaborate with Sage Analytics teams to ensure Power BI best practices, optimizing performance, security, and scalability.
* Develop and implement a proactive Power BI tenancy management strategy.
* Own and resolve critical user issues via ServiceNow and the Power BI Community forum.
* Address capacity and efficiency issues in semantic models and analytics workflows.
* Lead the Power BI Centre of Excellence to standardize practices, enforce governance, and drive innovation.
* Create best practice guides and processes to enhance Power BI usage across Sage.

Requirements
* Extensive experience with Power BI, with familiarity in other BI platforms such as Tableau or Qlik.
* Experience in developing and implementing Power BI tenancy management strategies.
* Hands-on background enabling the ability to support and guide the Power BI user community.
* Familiarity with implementing AI-driven capabilities within BI solutions where appropriate.
