The opportunity

* Are looking to make a step up in your actuarial career?

* Are you looking for variety in your role whilst working alongside some of the best actuaries and underwriters in the market?

* Are you looking to have your voice heard and make a real, measurable impact on our business?

* Are you excited about joining a team that is constantly looking to innovate and explore the art of the possible?

If so, this could be your next role and we would love to hear from you! As a Pricing Analyst you will be joining our high performing Mid-Market Pricing team, to work on our industry-leading pricing models, build a variety of performance dashboards and help maintain our customer-oriented service.

If you're looking to pursue an actuarial career, you may also have the opportunity to join Zurich's Actuarial Academy a four-year development programme for aspiring actuaries. The Academy helps you build knowledge across pricing, reserving and capital modelling, while growing your network with other actuarial students and colleagues across Zurich through projects and shadowing opportunities.

Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren't available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

What will you be doing?

You will be working within the Pricing team on Property, Motor, Casualty and Engineering lines of business. This role focuses on our mid-market business meaning that (in our opinion!) it offers the best of both worlds - large volumes of data to get your teeth into along with the interesting technical and practical challenges that come with pricing in this space.

You'll be working on:

* Pricing tools - looking after and improving our current suite of pricing tools, working across various platforms and working closely with underwriters

* Pricing analysis - getting stuck into our large & complex data sets to produce high-quality pricing analyses

* Portfolio monitoring - build and maintain our portfolio monitoring dashboards and help deliver portfolio insight sessions with key stakeholders

* Modernising our pricing capability - building and embedding new market-leading P&C pricing systems

* Technical skills - the chance to learn and use SQL, R/Python, Power BI & more

* Culture - contributing to a friendly, positive and supportive team environment. We are a friendly team and do regular quizzes & team outings.

* Collaborating - building strong relationships across the company (claims, reserving, underwriting, finance), providing trusted insights and helping to foster a strong data-driven culture

* Coaching & mentoring -opportunities to help develop the technical and non-technical skills of junior team members, with the possibility of line management in the future

What are we looking for?

Required:

* Highly numerate and analytical

* Good attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.

* Strong communication and teamworking skills

* Proactivity and a keenness to learn and develop

Preferable:

* Experience in an Actuarial role, preferably in General Insurance

* Technical experience e.g. Excel, Snowflake/SQL, R, Python, Power BI, VBA

* Progress towards actuarial exams, or an interest in pursuing actuarial qualifications, where relevant.
