Local IT Generalist / IT Site Support (Junior) (m/f/d)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Local IT Generalist / IT Site Support (Junior) (m/f/d), you act as the primary local IT interface between the IT ecosystem, strategic partners, and the local business or site; In this role, you support day-to-day IT operations, coordinate support activities, and help ensure compliance with local IT, security, and legal requirements; You work in a broad, hands-on IT generalist capacity with strong coordination and communication responsibilities, taking local accountability for smooth IT operations and a reliable, user-friendly digital workplace.
KEY TASK:
* Serve as the local point of contact between IT service providers, platform teams, and business users, coordinating all types of local support cases, including onboarding of on-site support technicians and urgent equipment handovers;
* Provide IT process guidance to local business users, actively monitor tickets (including long-running or critical cases), and support escalation and continuous IT improvement initiatives at site level;
* Manage the full IT asset lifecycle, including procurement and documentation, inventory and tracking, lifecycle management and disposal, and support IT equipment relocation and full workplace setups (for example cabling, information screens, peripherals);
* Manage local telephony and connectivity services, including landline and fax services as well as mobile devices, routing, porting, and procurement;
* Support non-standard hardware and accessories, provide Smart Hands and infrastructure hands-on support, deliver technical support for smaller or ad-hoc events, and support local print services, including non-network and home-office printers;
* Create and maintain IT documentation such as infrastructure overviews and cabling plans, provide IT user trainings, support digital education initiatives, and act as a key user offering practical guidance (for example Microsoft 365 tips, general IT advice, idea sharing);
* Perform risk assessments related to access management (for example file shares, SharePoint, SAP, PRIMA), support CCTV, video surveillance, and physical access control systems, and help ensure fulfillment of local legal IT requirements such as data backup, hardware tracing, documentation, and support for mandatory governmental or regulatory surveys;
* Provide basic IT consultancy to the local business, including support for business-managed local applications, and participate in IT project activities by contributing local expertise and coordination support.
WHO YOU ARE
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
* First professional experience in IT support, Digital Workplace, infrastructure, or service operations (for example internships, junior roles, apprenticeships);
* Basic understanding of Digital Workplace technologies such as Microsoft 365, Teams, endpoint or device management tools, and collaboration platforms;
* Familiarity with IT service management concepts (for example incident, request, and change handling); ITIL knowledge is a plus;
* Strong interest in IT infrastructure, end-user support, and on-site IT services, with a basic understanding of IT security and compliance principles and a strong willingness to learn;
* Structured and solution-oriented problem-solving approach, with good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business users;
* Business-oriented mindset with awareness of user needs and service impact, and a high level of ownership for assigned tasks, including readiness to learn new technologies and continuously develop skills;
* Fluency in German and English (spoken and written); additional local languages are an advantage.
