Join a multidisciplinary team to uncover how drought mobilizes C, nutrients and trace elements from high-mountain soils and how this shapes downstream water quality. The PhD will span lab experiments (undisturbed cores, microbial physiology, isotope tracers), field campaigns with sensor networks in Aigüestortes NP, and data analysis & modelling of catchment responses.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

* MSc in Environmental Sciences/Ecology/Biology/Env. Engineering (or related) obtained after 1/1/2023.
* Strong grades (> 7 on a 10-point scale) and motivation to apply to FPU or FI predoctoral fellowships.
* Interest in field & lab work, quantitative analysis (R/Python a plus), and teamwork.
* Good English communication and motivation to work in an international research environment.
