Field(s) of activity/research for the traineeship
In the Directorate of Navigation, the ESA NAV Cybersecurity Audit Team plays a major role in the security assurance process, contributing to the cybersecurity risk management of the organisation and infrastructure, in particular the navigation systems and programmes the Directorate manages for its customers. Cybersecurity audits are part of the European Space Security Policy for navigation programmes.
As a National Graduate Trainee in the NAV Cybersecurity Audit team, you will be at the intersection of IT engineering and policy. You will work in the ESA Navigation Security Office and be part of the ESA NAV Cyber Internal Audits Unit. Your main role will be to analyse the technical and legal impact of the new cybersecurity regulations with a main focus on the following critical programmes: Galileo, EGNOS, Celeste, NAV H2020 and NAV Horizon Europe.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of a cyber legal compliance tool that will be integrated within the ESA Cyber Internal Audit Framework. Currently, this Framework is shared with more than 40 entities within the navigation sector.

Education
You should have just completed, or be in the final year of your master' s degree in an IT engineering, science or legal discipline.
Additional requirements
You should have good interpersonal and communication skills and should be able to work in a multicultural environment, both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience of working in international teams may be considered an asset. Your motivation, overall professional prospects and career goals will also be explored during the later stages of the selection process.
