In order to support the Mission Functions department, Airbus Helicopters is looking for a

Internship (Master) / (Bachelor) (d/f/m) within the mission software department

Your location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities

* Collaborating with multidisciplinary, international teams
* Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards (e.g., DO-178C, ISO 26262)
* Participate in the verification and validation (V&V) process of AI models, ensuring compliance with system and safety requirements.
* Contribute to the design and execution of test cases for AI components,
* Support the collection, curation, and labeling of datasets for model training and evaluation.
* Assist in the training, fine-tuning, and performance monitoring of AI/ML models using Python and AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
* Develop and maintain automated pipelines for model training, testing, and deployment.
* Analyze model behavior and performance, and contribute to debugging and improving AI models.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of AI development and verification processes through automation and DevOps practices.
* Stay up to date with the latest AI/ML technologies and contribute ideas for integrating innovative solutions into existing workflows.

Desired skills and qualifications

* Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) within IT, computer Science or a similar field
* Solid knowledge of Python for scripting, data manipulation, and model development.
* Familiarity with software testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and system-level verification.
* Experience with data collection, preprocessing, labeling, and evaluation for AI model training.
* Ability to work with embedded systems and/or understand the integration of AI models into real-time environments is a plus.
* Knowledge in programming languages (Python, C, C++, .)
* Basic experience in agile software development methods would be a plus
* Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development practices.
* Having knowledge of DevOps is a valuable asse
* Ability to work in teams and solve complex technical problems
* Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and work on multiple tasks simultaneously, especially in a dynamic environment
* Analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
* Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional and international teams. Language Skills: English - fluent

Deine Aufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten

Zusammenarbeit mit multidisziplinären, internationalen Teams
* Sicherstellung der Einhaltung von Sicherheits- und Regulierungsstandards (z. B. DO-178C, ISO 26262)
* Teilnahme am Verifizierungs- und Validierungsprozess (V&V) von KI-Modellen, um die Einhaltung der System- und Sicherheitsanforderungen sicherzustellen.
* Mitwirkung an der Konzeption und Durchführung von Testfällen für KI-Komponenten
* Unterstützung bei der Erfassung, Kuratierung und Kennzeichnung von Datensätzen für das Modelltraining und die Modellbewertung.
* Unterstützung beim Training, der Feinabstimmung und der Leistungsüberwachung von KI-/ML-Modellen unter Verwendung von Python und KI-Frameworks (z. B. TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
* Entwicklung und Pflege automatisierter Pipelines für das Training, Testen und Bereitstellen von Modellen.
* Analyse des Modellverhaltens und der Modellleistung sowie Mitwirkung an der Fehlerbehebung und Verbesserung von KI-Modellen.
* Beitrag zur kontinuierlichen Verbesserung der KI-Entwicklungs- und Verifizierungsprozesse durch Automatisierung und DevOps-Praktiken.
* Auf dem Laufenden bleiben über die neuesten KI-/ML-Technologien und Ideen für die Integration innovativer Lösungen in bestehende Arbeitsabläufe einbringen.

Erforderliche Kenntnisse und Qualifikationen
* Vollzeitstudierende(r) (w/m/d) im Bereich IT, Informatik oder einem ähnlichen Fachgebiet.
* Fundierte Kenntnisse in Python für Skripting, Datenmanipulation und Modellentwicklung.
* Vertrautheit mit Software-Testmethoden, einschließlich Unit-Tests, Integrationstests und Verifizierung auf Systemebene.
* Erfahrung mit Datenerfassung, Vorverarbeitung, Kennzeichnung und Bewertung für das Training von KI-Modellen.
* Die Fähigkeit, mit eingebetteten Systemen zu arbeiten und/oder die Integration von KI-Modellen in Echtzeitumgebungen zu verstehen, ist von Vorteil.
* Kenntnisse in Programmiersprachen (Python, C, C++, .)
