Join us. **Job Description** **At AECOM - Shaping the Future of Communities** **AECOM** is seeking a **Planning Intern** for our Winnipeg, MB office. If you're passionate about planning and want to work on projects that have real-world impact, this internship if for you! **Why This Role Rocks** + Work on multiple projects-from municipal planning to master plans, sustainability initiatives, and community development. + Contribute to projects that support First Nations communities, ensuring plans respect both cultural values and future growth. + Engage with real-world planning challenges, guided by seasoned professionals ready to mentor you. + Transform your ideas into impactful reports, maps, and presentations. **What You'll Do** + Conduct policy research, analyze data, and create maps using GIS to support planning initiatives. + Assist in public, stakeholder, and Indigenous engagement efforts by designing materials and participating in community meetings. + Help prepare planning reports such as Official Plans, Zoning By-law Amendments, and site plans. + Work alongside engineers, architects, and environmental specialists on integrated projects. + Prepare graphics, presentations, and technical memos for clients and stakeholders to communicate planning solutions effectively. **What You'll Get** + Balance your work and study commitments with our flexible hybrid work arrangements. + Learn through involvement in a diversity of municipal, regional, and Indigenous planning initiatives. + Benefit from mentorship and development that builds your professional competencies in planning. + Join a collaborative team culture that values creativity, diversity, and making a lasting difference. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements** + Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Planning, Engineering, Humanities, or a related field with the intent to continue pursuing studies after the internship, unless graduating. + Candidates must have completed two (2) years of study in their program. + Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various communities for face-to-face engagements. **Preferred Qualifications** + Preference may be given to those pursuing a master's degree in a related field. **What We're Looking For** + Someone curious, adaptable, and eager to handle a diverse range of projects. + Strong communication skills with a knack for visual storytelling. + Experience with GIS is beneficial. + Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is also beneficial. + An interest in Indigenous-led community planning is a bonus. **Additional Information** + Relocation is not available for this position. + Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
