The opportunity
Hitachi Energy is offering an exciting internship opportunity within the Business Unit Transformers for students passionate about innovation and engineering. As an intern in our R&D program, you will support the development and delivery of advanced software solutions tailored for transformer mechanical design engineers.
This internship provides a unique chance to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges, contribute to impactful projects, and collaborate with a forward-thinking team. You'll gain hands-on experience in a global environment committed to innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence.

How you'll make an impact
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and align solutions with industry standards.
* Support the implementation of new product features in the mechanical design platform.
* Contribute to risk analysis and help develop mitigation strategies for project success.
* Participate in agile development cycles, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
* Assist in testing and debugging to ensure software quality and performance.
* Learn from experienced engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.
* Help drive innovation by incorporating user feedback and proposing enhancements.

Your background
* Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong interest in design engineering and software development.
* Familiarity with 3D modeling tools such as Creo is a plus.
* Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C, C#, Java, Python, VB, C++, etc.).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
* Willingness to learn and contribute in a global, collaborative environment.
