About this role
Location: Field-based (Greater Cairo, Giza, Suez, and Alexandria)
Duration: 6-8 Weeks
Project Focus: Primary Market Research & Industrial Automation Landscape Mapping
Infomineo is seeking proactive and technically-minded Engineering Summer Interns to join our strategic go-to-market research project. As an intern, you will be at the forefront of our field operations, conducting site visits and structured surveys with large manufacturing players to map the future of industrial automation in Egypt.
What you will do?
Key job requirements will be your ability to
* Field Data Collection: Conduct on-site visits and plant inspections.
* Structured Interviewing: Execute tailored questionnaires with diverse stakeholders, ranging from maintenance users to plant management and senior decision-makers.
* Technical Mapping: Assess the current state of installed automation bases and identify gaps where system upgrades or new solutions are required.
* Data Synthesis: Accurately record raw survey responses and assist in the tabulation of data to identify investment and expansion signals.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a professional representative of Infomineo while coordinating with account managers and facility leads.
* Reporting to the Managers (on the status of the fieldwork: closed, on-hold; validating data collected, ensuring data completion)
Performance is measured in terms of:
* Quality: delivering accurate, verified and reliable information
* Creativity and resourcefulness: ability to hunt information using different tools with a focus on results
* Effectiveness: ability to work in a productive way (prioritizing tasks, staying focused etc.) being 100% reliable and to deliver on time
Who you are?
Candidate Requirements:
* Currently enrolled in a reputable Faculty of Engineering.
* Relevant Majors: Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Systems & Control Engineering.
* Expected graduation in 2026 or 2027
* Ability and willingness to travel to industrial zones across Greater Cairo, Giza, Suez, and Alexandria.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to different organizational levels.
* Full proficiency in English and Arabic
* Availability to start 1st of July 2026.
* Commitment till end of August 2026.
Technical Competencies & Interests:
Candidates should possess a foundational understanding or a strong interest in the following areas relevant to Siemens' Digital Industries scope:
* Industrial Automation: PLC, SCADA, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
* Digital Transformation: Comprehensive Digital Twins and the Industrial Metaverse.
* Advanced Software: Industrial AI, cloud integration, and data analytics for manufacturing.
* Cybersecurity: Understanding the importance of OT (Operational Technology) security in industrial environments.
* Industrial Software: PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and MOM (Manufacturing Operations Management).
