Role description:
The Digital Solutions - Applications Developer Internship at Arcadis offers students the opportunity to work alongside experienced developers to support and enhance client-facing, web-based applications. As an intern, you will participate in real projects, gain hands-on technical experience, and develop professional skills in a collaborative environment. The internship can be based in Houston, TX.
Role accountabilities:
* Support and enhance web-based applications under supervision.
* Write and modify scripts using Structured Query Language (SQL).
* Assist with maintaining and updating source code repositories.
* Follow established documentation and development standards.
* Participate in the creation and execution of test plans.
* Track, report, and help resolve software bugs.
* Gain experience with CSS frameworks like Bootstrap.
* Use source control systems (e.g., Git, SVN, TFS) for version management.
Learn and apply web programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, PHP, .NET).
Qualifications & Experience:
* Foundational knowledge of SQL and web-based application development.
* Exposure to or coursework in JavaScript (and libraries such as jQuery), web programming languages, and databases.
* Seeking a Masters or Bachelors degree
* Basic understanding of program design and software development processes.
Interns may also have the opportunity to gain experience in areas such as mobile application development, reporting tools (SSRS or Crystal Reports), and geospatial APIs (Google Maps, ESRI JS). Candidates who excel in this internship demonstrate adaptability, strong communication, and eagerness to learn in a dynamic, professional setting.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $24.96 - 37.44. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
