Job Description
* The internship will focus on 3D simulation of the following topics
* Mixture preparation process in the engine, resulting in a quantitative assessment of fuel wall film formation and subsequent soot formation.
* Thermal simulations including 2 phase conjugate heat transfer of components associated with the automotive thermal systems.
* Heat exchangers and flow path optimization.
* The intern will contribute by validating CFD models using measurement data from tests, and develop optimized designs for engine sprays, thermal units and heat exchangers to improve performance/efficiency and mitigate existing problems.
* The intern will also contribute towards identifying and proposing process improvement methods in CFD

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace engineering or similar discipline with strong interest in engine simulation
* Existing experience in working with 3D simulation tools such as AVL Fire, Converge etc.
* Experience with CAD modifications
* Ability to work independently
* Minimum GPA of 3.0
Preferred Qualifications:
* Doctoral (PhD) student in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace engineering or similar discipline
* Experience with IC engine testing
* Experience with 1D simulation tool GT-Power
