Job Description

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Intern will support Lean Manufacturing initiatives within a fast-paced toy manufacturing facility. This hands-on, learning-focused role is designed to provide students with practical exposure to manufacturing operations and continuous improvement methodologies in a real-world environment.

The intern will work closely with CI and Operations team members to support improvement projects, assist with shop floor initiatives, and gain experience in applying Lean principles to drive operational excellence.

* Assist in the deployment and standardization of Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, visual management, standard work, and waste identification
* Support continuous improvement events (Kaizen events, Go-Look-See walks, workshops) including preparation, documentation, and follow-up tracking
* Create and update visual boards, presentations, and basic reports to communicate improvement activities and results
* Participate in the implementation of both global and local CI initiatives aligned with business strategy
* Document processes using flowcharts, photographs, and work instructions
* Spend time on the shop floor observing workflows and learning day-to-day production operations
* Collect, organize, and analyze data related to safety, quality, delivery, and operational efficiency
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, and Maintenance
* Contribute to special improvement-related projects based on business needs, skills, and interests

Qualifications & Requirements

* Currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college or university program
* Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Automation, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
* Strong interest in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Operations
* Ability to manage assigned tasks with close supervision and clear guidance
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
* Positive attitude with a willingness to learn in a hands-on manufacturing environment
* Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
