Job Summary:
If you are a Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Software Engineering student looking for an internship opportunity to work with the global Emerson Systems and Software organization, this is a stimulating opportunity for you! As the AI and Data Engineering Intern, you will support the development of AI-powered solutions that enhance internal audit processes and decision-making. You will collaborate with auditors, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to build intelligent tools that drive data-informed insights and improve efficiency.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
* Collaborating with internal auditors and engineering teams to understand audit workflows, data sources, and key challenges
* Developing AI and machine learning prototypes for anomaly detection, risk scoring, and data classification
* Building automation tools that streamline audit procedures and improve operational efficiency
* Supporting model evaluation, validation, and tuning to enhance accuracy and reliability
* Assisting in integrating AI components into internal tools and dashboards used by audit teams
* Documenting methodologies, models, and technical outputs to enable knowledge sharing and reuse

For This Role, You Will Need:
* Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field.
* Ability to commit to a minimum of 480 hours; both required and voluntary interns are welcome.
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Interest in applying AI in business domains such as audit, risk, or compliance
* Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
* Willingness to learn and apply new technologies in practical scenarios

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
* Experience building small applications or using modern development tools
* Exposure to machine learning, data analytics, or natural language processing concepts
* Familiarity with cloud-based AI tools or large language model technologies
* Awareness of data privacy, security, or secure coding practices
