Introduction

Join the Metrology Measure department at ASML, where we develop software subsystems that enable customers to expose patterns precisely on silicon wafers. Maintaining nanometer-level precision requires millions of lines of code. This internship focuses on modernizing ASML tooling for code visualization and analysis. By collaborating across teams and applying research and development, you will help engineers manage the complexity of ASML's codebase.

Your assignment

You will explore innovative solutions for visualizing and analyzing ASML's software architecture. This includes researching AI-based methods and creating prototypes to improve code understanding.

Your key responsibilities will be:
* Analyze ASML's software architecture and identify visualization needs.
* Review existing tools and services for architecture and code visualization.
* Define requirements for effective code visualization and analysis.
* Investigate AI techniques for analyzing large-scale codebases.
* Design and prototype AI-driven solutions for code analysis.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to validate your approach.
* Document findings and present recommendations for future improvements.

This is a bachelor or master's internship (thesis) for a minimum of 6 months, 4 days per week (hybrid). The start date of this internship is February/March.

Your profile

To be suitable for the internship, you:
* Are enrolled in a bachelor or master's degree in computer science or Data science, AI a related field.
* Have knowledge of AI techniques, such as machine learning and computational optimization.
* Are proficient in Python programming.
* Are analytical, proactive, and collaborative in a multidisciplinary environment.
* Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

Other requirements you need to meet:
* You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
* Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
* You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
* If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
