Your role and responsibilities

As a Work Student in Cybersecurity at IBM, you will support our cybersecurity experts in protecting systems, data, and digital assets for IBM and our clients. You will gain hands-on experience in a professional, agile environment while contributing to real-world security initiatives. This role offers an excellent opportunity to deepen your technical knowledge, learn industry best practices, and develop practical skills in cybersecurity.

In your role, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting cybersecurity teams in day-to-day operational and project activities.
- Assisting with security assessments, risk analyses, and documentation.
- Supporting vulnerability management, including tracking and reporting findings.
- Assisting in monitoring security controls and compliance activities.
- Supporting the preparation of reports, presentations, and security documentation.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile working environment.

Required education
Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

- Enrolled as a student (Bachelor's) in Computer Science, Information Security, IT, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles (e.g. networks, operating systems, security fundamentals).
- Interest in areas such as IT security, cloud security, or risk and compliance.
- Analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Fluent in English and French (written & spoken); German is a plus.
- Eligible to work in Switzerland (valid work permit or Swiss/EU nationality).

Preferred technical and professional experience

- First hands-on experience with security tools or labs (e.g. vulnerability scanners, SIEM, IAM).
- Basic knowledge of scripting or programming (e.g. Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms or operating systems (Linux/Windows).
- Interest in security standards or frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST).
- Previous internship or student work experience in IT or cybersecurity
