Introduction
As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the introduction and industrialization of the YS550 system. You will work closely with the Industrial Engineering (IE) team and cross-functional partners to improve collaboration between Development & Engineering (D&E) and Manufacturing, and help drive cycle time (CT) and labor hour (LH) improvements in the Linkou factory during the NPI (New Production Introduction) phase. This internship provides hands-on experience in a high-tech production environment and exposure to real industrialization challenges
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to define the collaboration WoW between YS D&E and Factory
* Support the refinement and standardization of collaboration processes between D&E and Manufacturing to ensure smooth and efficient NPI execution.
* Document process gaps, improvement opportunities, and best practices to strengthen cross-team cooperation.
Contribute to create/maintain the monitoring reports (incl. gaps and KPIs) toward NPI in 5 and on-time KD13
* Work with IE to identify cycle time and labor hour performance issues during the YS550 NPI builds.
* Contribute to the creation and execution of CT/LH improvement plans that support factory productivity and scalability.
* Track progress of key improvement actions and support reporting to stakeholders.
Contribute to create/maintain the wiki pages and knowledge retention documents of YS IC-007 CT/LH competency
* Capture key learnings from NPI builds, issue resolutions, and process changes.
* Help develop clear and structured documentation (work instructions, guidelines, checklists) to support knowledge retention and future builds.
* Ensure information is organized, accessible, and ready for transfer to volume manufacturing teams.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong English speaking, writing and documentation skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Good communication skills and willingness to work across diverse technical teams.
* Ability to structure information clearly and drive tasks independently.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with Excel, Python, Power BI, or AI tooling.
* Familiarity with Lean concepts, workflow mapping, or process improvement.
* Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
