Apprentice - Software Engineer (AI)

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice in Software Engineering with foundational AI/ML skills, a positive attitude, and excellent communication. You will support engineering and AI teams on applied projects, gain practical experience across the model lifecycle, and receive mentorship to develop technical and professional skills.
Key responsibilities
* Support design, development and testing of AI/ML prototypes and small features
* Preprocess and analyse datasets; implement data pipelines for experiments
* Train, evaluate and iterate on models using industry-standard frameworks
* Smartsheet knowledge
* Assist with model deployment, monitoring and reproducibility of experiments
* Write clear code, unit tests, and documentation; maintain version control (Git)
* Learn and apply GSK security, privacy and compliance guidelines in day-to-day work
Required qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or related field (recent graduates or final-year students eligible)
* Demonstrable foundational knowledge in AI/ML (coursework, projects or internships)
* Strong programming skills in Python
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting technical work to non-technical audiences
* Positive, proactive attitude and strong willingness to learn and take feedback
* Ability to work from GSK Bangalore office on a hybrid schedule
