We are seeking a results-oriented Area Manager to supervise daily operations at our reverse logistics site. This role requires a data-driven professional who is focused on process execution and continuous improvement while demonstrating strong people leadership. The ideal candidate will show capabilities that raise the bar, combining hands-on operational management with team development and process optimization.
As an Area Manager, you will directly supervise a team of associates responsible for processing returned items, vendor returns, and asset recovery operations. You'll ensure your team executes RMA processing, failure analysis, sorting, and vendor management activities while meeting quality standards and operational metrics. This role demands someone who can lead by example on the floor, make quick decisions to resolve issues, and develop team members in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
This position requires flexibility to work rotating day and night shifts with 12-hour shift schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed to support continuous operations.
Key job responsibilities
* Directly supervise a team of associates in reverse logistics operations including failed gear sorting, RMA processing, vendor returns, and asset recovery
* Maintain active presence on the operations floor for up to 12 hours per shift, leading by example and providing hands-on support
* Monitor work queues and service level agreement (SLA) adherence to ensure timely processing of returns and vendor shipments
* Audit employees work to ensure results meet quality standards and operational requirements
* Use data and metrics to identify priorities and determine when situations require deep dives versus quick resolution
* Identify and recommend improvements to tools, procedures, and workflows to enhance operational efficiency
* Manage straightforward operational problems and escalate roadblocks and risks appropriately
* Conduct regular team meetings, daily huddles, and shift briefings to communicate priorities and performance
* Provide coaching, feedback, and on-the-job training to develop team member skills and capabilities
* Support hiring activities and onboard new team members using established training materials
* Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and operational procedures
* Facilitate effective shift handoffs to maintain operational continuity across day and night operations
* Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including throughput, quality, and safety metrics

Physical Requirements:
* Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for up to 12 hours per shift
* Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
* Ability to occasionally lift or move items up to 49 pounds
* Ability to work rotating day/night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs
Profil requis du candidat:
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience within a distribution center, logistics, or manufacturing environment
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems
- Experience in operational logistics/supply chain, manufacturing, transportation, general management or an engineering role
- Experience in people management and team development
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience as a logistics professional supporting inventory cycle counts, shipments, maintenance, stock control functions and reverse logistics
- Knowledge of Lean methodologies
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management System Software including Warehouse control systems
- Knowledge of Excel skills to be able to refine data and prepare business reports
- Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
- Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment
- Experience in Business English skills, both verbal and written
