Purpose of Role
The Market Data Lead will be responsible for driving and maintaining data governance across Diageo Brazil, ensuring that data standards, policies, and principles are consistently applied across all domains and global value streams. This role acts as the ultimate authority on data governance for the market, independent of specific data assets or streams, enabling high-quality, trusted data to support business decisions and strategic outcomes, working together and under Global Data Guidelines and ways of working, to drive the agenda efficiently at the Market. Additionally, the Market Data Lead will manage the overall Data Brazil Program, including the macro backlog, data assets, and detailed data mapping.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and enforce data governance policies, standards, and principles across all business domains.
* Sponsor and drive adoption of governance practices within the market, ensuring alignment with global frameworks.
* Lead the Data Brazil Program, managing the macro backlog and prioritization of initiatives.
* Oversee the mapping and documentation of data assets and detailed data structures.
* Act as the primary point of contact for data governance, providing clear visibility and accountability for data-related decisions.
* Ensure data definitions and standards are consistently applied across markets and domains.
* Engage and influence Local and Regional Senior Leadership, Local Data Team and Champions, Regional Data Team, and Global Strategic Data Functions.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Business, Data Management, Information Systems, or related field.
* Minimum 8+ years in data governance, data management, or related roles.
* Proven track record of leading governance initiatives and managing complex data programs in multi-market environments.
* Strong leadership and influencing skills.
* Deep understanding of data governance frameworks and business strategy.
* Ability to manage ambiguity and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
Language Requirements
* Portuguese: Native
* English: Fluent
* Spanish: Desired
