Maintenance Technician | Grand Hyatt Barcelona

As an Maintenance Technician, you will be part of the Engineering team responsible for ensuring that all hotel facilities operate safely, efficiently and at the highest quality standards. This role is essential to maintaining guest comfort, operational excellence and the premium experience that defines Grand Hyatt Barcelona.

Main Duties

Operational Responsibilities

* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and refrigeration systems.

* Respond quickly and effectively to maintenance requests from guests and internal departments.

* Operate and monitor essential hotel machinery and equipment to ensure proper functioning.

* Record technical data and comply with safety standards and departmental procedures.

* Maintain clean and safe work areas and support the team during emergencies and operational needs.

Customer Service Responsibilities

* Provide courteous and professional service at all times.

* Handle guest and colleague enquiries efficiently, ensuring timely follow-up.

* Maintain positive interactions with guests and team members.

Personal Responsibilities

* Represent the values and service culture of Grand Hyatt Barcelona at all times.

* Attend required training sessions and departmental meetings.

* Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, business partners and other hotels.

* Follow all policies outlined in the Employee Handbook, including safety, hygiene and IT use.

* Maintain excellent grooming and personal presentation.

* Adapt to departmental needs and perform additional duties as requested

Profil requis du candidat:

Qualifications

* Technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical, plumbing and basic carpentry systems.

* Experience in electromechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.

* Positive attitude, teamwork and independent-working skills, strong communication and attention to detail.

* High level of Spanish and basic English skills required for operational communication

* Basic computer literacy (Office suite and internal logging systems).

* 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within hospitality.

* Education or certifications in relevant technical fields (preferred).

* Physical ability to operate machinery, lift and work in varied conditions.

* Availability for rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
