Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM's** Water Business Line is seeking an **Electrical Engineer** to contribute to multidisciplinary teams that plan, design, and deliver water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems in the **Denver, Colorado** office. The ideal candidate will support power, controls, and instrumentation design from concept through construction, helping communities ensure clean, reliable, and resilient water infrastructure. _This position is expected to begin as soon as possible._ **The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:** + Develop electrical design documents for water/wastewater facilities, including single-line diagrams, load calculations, equipment layouts, panel schedules, cable/conduit routing, and grounding/lightning protection plans. + Assist with motor control systems (MCCs, VFDs, soft starters), standby power systems (generators, ATS, UPS), and low-voltage power distribution. + Perform short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies under supervision using industry-standard software. + Draft and edit technical specifications, basis-of-design reports, calculations, and engineer's estimates of probable construction costs. + Coordinate with civil, mechanical, structural, process, and construction management teams to resolve design interfaces and deliver integrated packages. + Participate in quality reviews, submittal/RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, and field activities such as site assessments, factory acceptance tests, and commissioning support. + Contribute to digital design workflows in CAD/BIM environments and help maintain model and drawing standards. + Maintain strong project documentation, schedule awareness, and effective communication with internal stakeholders. + Work with local and national Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls experts. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. + Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required. + Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. **Preferred Qualifications** + Previous experience preferred but not required. + Familiarity with the NEC (NFPA 70); awareness of IEEE and NFPA 70E practices. + Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months. + Internship/co-op experience in water/wastewater, industrial power, or infrastructure design. + Experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D and/or Revit. + Exposure to Bluebeam or other PDF software for markups. + Exposure to power system analysis tools (e.g., SKM, ETAP, EasyPower) for short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies. + Familiarity with PLCs/HMIs, SCADA concepts, and common industrial communication protocols. + Understanding of AWWA and ISA standards relevant to water infrastructure and instrumentation. + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Ability to support the preparation of instrumentation and controls deliverables: I/O lists, instrument datasheets, panel layouts, control narratives, and P&IDs in collaboration with senior controls engineers. + Support SCADA architecture definition and integration with PLC/HMI systems in collaboration with senior controls engineers. **Additional Information** + Relocation assistance is not available for this position. + This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Denver, Colorado. The selected candidate must be available to work in Denver, Colorado on a scheduled basis. + Some travel may be required to support regional projects and client meetings.
