Description du poste:

Company Description:

Dailymotion is more than just a video app, it's a visual conversation in motion powered by a unique algorithm designed to develop users' critical thinking. Dailymotion brings nuance to the debates that engage young audiences and puts listening, discovery, and kindness back at the heart of exchanges to help build a safer and more virtuous Internet.
Dailymotion is also "Dailymotion Pro", a video hosting and streaming solution serving professionals across all industries; and "Dailymotion Advertising", a powerful proprietary video marketing platform that offers a high-quality and safe environment for brands.
Our team is made up of 400 employees in France, New York, and Singapore, all united by the same ambition: to visibly shake up the video platform ecosystem worldwide.

Job Description:

We're building THE next big social app in a startup-minded squad within Dailymotion, and we're looking for a Staff iOS Engineer to become the technical backbone of our iOS practice.
You'll be the Staff iOS Engineer of the team: setting the technical direction for our iOS application, leading engineers day to day on architecture and code quality, and representing iOS in every cross-functional conversation that shapes the product, alongside our Android engineers, Backend, QA, Design and Product.
This is a role that blends deep hands-on craft with real leadership. You'll write code and solve hard iOS problems yourself, but you'll also be the person the team turns to for architecture decisions, technical direction, and coaching. You'll drive alignment with the Android team on shared product behavior and cross-platform consistency, and act as the technical voice of iOS in front of Product and Design. Think of yourself as the de facto lead of the iOS practice, technically and collaboratively, even without formal reporting lines by default.
More broadly, you're a Staff Mobile Engineer at heart: iOS is your core expertise, but you're just as comfortable sitting down with the Android team to think through a shared problem, a cross-platform architecture question, or a tricky technical trade-off. You don't need to write Android code, but you speak the same language as the people who do, and you're genuinely curious about how the whole mobile ecosystem at Dailymotion fits together, because ultimately, it's one product experience.
If you've thrived in high-growth startups or scale-ups, shipped consumer apps to millions of users, and you naturally become the reference point your team relies on, technically and human, this role was written for you.
Your Mission
* Set and own the technical direction and architecture of our iOS app, from foundations to shipping features at scale
* Lead the iOS engineers on a day-to-day basis: code reviews, architecture decisions, technical trade-offs, and quality bar
* Act as the main point of technical alignment with the Android team, ensuring product consistency and shared best practices across platforms
* Engage naturally with the Android team on cross-platform technical topics, sharing architecture thinking, coaching engineers when useful, and keeping the mobile ecosystem consistent as a whole, without owning Android's day-to-day
* Represent iOS in cross-functional discussions with Backend, QA, Design and Product, and turn product ambitions into sound technical decisions
* Coach and grow iOS engineers through pairing, code reviews, and architecture discussions, whether informally or as a first step toward formal team leadership
* Establish clear technical standards and ways of working for the iOS codebase (tooling, CI/CD, testing, engineering culture)
* Stay hands-on: ship features yourself, review code, and keep close contact with the codebase every day
* Explore and drive AI integration opportunities to enhance the iOS user experience

Qualifications:

Requirements
* Deep, hands-on expertise in the iOS ecosystem: Swift, SwiftUI/UIKit, Xcode, App Store lifecycle, this is non-negotiable
* Proven track record building and scaling high-traffic B2C consumer apps, with millions of active users and real product impact
* Demonstrated ability to lead technically: guiding other engineers, driving architecture decisions, and being a natural reference point for the team
* A genuine mobile-wide technical culture: even as an iOS specialist, you can hold your own in a conversation with Android engineers, understand shared constraints (performance, architecture, product parity), and enjoy connecting the dots across the mobile ecosystem, at Dailymotion and beyond
* Startup or scale-up DNA: you've navigated fast iteration cycles, ambiguity, and aggressive growth targets
* Comfortable operating cross-functionally, collaborating closely with Android, Backend, QA, Design and Product to keep the product experience coherent end to end
* Strong communication skills: you can influence and align people without needing formal authority
* Fluent in English / French is a plus
Nice to Have
* Prior experience managing engineers, whether formally as a manager or informally as a tech lead. This is a real plus, and if you're excited about growing into people leadership over time, we'd love to talk about it
* Expertise in streaming video, media frameworks, and real-time content delivery
* Experience with AI/ML integration in mobile applications
* Experience with A/B testing frameworks and conversion optimization
* Active involvement in mobile engineering communities or open-source contributions

Additional Information:

Don't check every box? Apply anyway.
We're looking for the right person to join the team, not just a perfect resume. If this role excites you but your experience doesn't align perfectly with every requirement, we still want to hear from you.
Dailymotion is an equal opportunity employer. We value inclusion and want you to help us build a more diverse community. All positions are open to people with disabilities, and we encourage everyone to apply. Need accommodations during the hiring process? Just let us know in advance.
Interview process
* HR Interview with Marvin (30 min): Get to know each other, discuss your motivations, and align on role expectations
* Interview with our Product Director Antoine, your future manager (45 min): Deep dive into the role requirements, assess your technical background and problem-solving approach, and challenge your skills through concrete scenarios
* Technical Case Study (1.5 hour): Work on a take-home case study followed by a presentation to your future team
* Cross-Team Interview with Jean-Loup (45 min): VP Product perspective on how web and mobile teams collaborate
